Assam: MLA pledges support for Koch-Rajbongshi community at 515th Chilarai Day celebration in Boko

The 515th Mahavir Chilarai Day was commemorated with grandeur at Gandhi Maidan in Boko, spanning two days of cultural and community-led events. The celebrations, organized by the Boko Regional Koch-Rajbongshi Youth Students’ Union in collaboration with the Boko Regional Koch-Rajbongshi Women’s Union, commenced on Tuesday.

Marking a significant milestone, the event was held in conjunction with the silver jubilee of the Boko Regional Koch-Rajbongshi Youth Students’ Union. On Wednesday, Palashbari MLA Hemanga Thakuria graced the occasion, accompanied by key leaders of the Koch-Rajbongshi Youth Association.

During the event, MLA Thakuria paid homage to Mahavir Chilarai by offering floral tributes at his statue and participating in a memorial ceremony. Expressing his deep-rooted connection with the Koch-Rajbongshi community, he reaffirmed his commitment to addressing their concerns and working towards their welfare in the region.
