In a call for unity and action, Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, emphasized the urgency of aiding flood victims over engaging in political maneuvering.
Speaking from Karimganj, where he visited two shelter camps, Margherita praised the district administration's efforts to assist those affected by floods from Margherita to the Barak Valley.
During his visit, Margherita criticized Congress for politicizing the disaster, highlighting that Congress MLA Kamalaksha De Purkayastha and other party members had extended support to the flood victims, but accused the party of exploiting the situation for political gain.
He specifically called out Rahul Gandhi, alleging that during his visit to Silchar, Gandhi did not visit a single shelter camp or meet flood-affected individuals, describing his concern as insincere.
Margherita's remarks underscored the plight of flood victims in the camps, where people were suffering from extreme heat. He urged all parties to set aside politics and focus on providing immediate relief to those in need.
