Assam mulls including Zubeen Garg’s biography in school curriculum

State Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu on November 3 said that the proposal to include the biography of late singer Zubeen Garg in Assam’s school syllabus is under active consideration. 

“I think the board is the competent authority to make a decision. SCERT is also examining it because it will have to be in conformity with the national curriculum framework. Something will be done. We’ll do it,” Pegu stated.

Meanwhile, reacting to Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s recent comments, the minister made a sharp counterattack, alleging that Gogoi’s conduct and questions in Parliament hint at questionable affiliations. 

“The kind of questions he (Gaurav Gogoi) asks in Parliament, that itself reveals, that itself gives an indication that he has some Pakistan connections. We do not have to go for any other things. Just go through the kind of questions he asks in Parliament,” Pegu remarked.
