Far from his home a Russian man named Vaisili is preparing to embark on a challenging journey down the mighty Brahmaputra River in Assam. Vaisili is on a mission, not just to navigate down the Brahmaputra, but also to spread the message of global peace. Vaisili's story is a testament to determination and cultural exploration as he has spent the past month tirelessly crafting his own boat to make this voyage possible.
Vaisili's fascination with the world's rivers has led him on journeys across several countries, all in hand-made boats. However, it was a chance encounter with a businessman from Sivasagar during his travels in Goa that attracted his interest in the Brahmaputra. Fascinated by the young man named Harsha, who expressively described the river's grandeur and the way of life along its banks, Vaisili decided to make the long journey to India.
Settling in the Dighaldarioli village of Dikhaumukh in the western edge of Sivasagar district, Vaisili sought refuge with a local family and dedicated himself to crafting a boat fit for the Brahmaputra's formidable waters. With his skill and determination, he plans to complete his boat by October 20.
Vaisili's ambitious plan is to navigate the Brahmaputra River from Dikhaumukh Rupohimukh to Sadiya, immersing himself in the lives of the riverside communities and fostering a message of global peace. Two Indonesian citizens will also join him on this remarkable journey.
Upon reaching Sadiya, Vaisili intends to continue his journey, navigating through Bangladesh via the Brahmaputra River, ultimately aiming to reach Kanyakumari. Along the way, he hopes to document the unique cultures and lifestyles of the people living along the riverbanks.
Not only is Vaisili an adventurer, but he also has a cultural mission. He aspires to translate the works of his spiritual gurus, who have played a significant role in his life, into the Russian language. This cultural exchange reflects his deep appreciation for the knowledge and wisdom imparted to him.
Vaisili's journey has been met with warmth and hospitality in the villages of Assam, and the locals have welcomed him with open arms. His smiling face is a reflection that he has discovered in this faraway corner of the world.
As October 20 approaches, the world will be watching in awe as Vaisili, the Russian national, sets out on his incredible voyage down the Brahmaputra River, not only to explore its mysteries but also to spread a message of peace and understanding between cultures.
