Assam: Student dies after consuming poison with noodles, two others hospitalised in critical condition

In a shocking incident, one student died on December 13 while two others hospitalised in critical condition after three students consumed poison with noodles on December 8, according to sources.

As per preliminary reports, the three students after returning from their tuition classes, headed towards a shop and consumed poison with noodles. The family members of the three students suspect the trio took this drastic step following pressure from their teacher.

It is learnt that, the three, all students of Chunbari Pragati Jatiya Vidyalaya, went for their tuition class on December 8 where after the class they wrote few obscene words on the board. On December 9, when the school authorities asked who wrote the obscene words on the board then the trio admitted to their actions. 

Later, the three students came to Kalpani Bazar near the school and consumed poison with noodles and fell ill. While one died, the other two students are undergoing treatment at GMCH. The school authorities denying any hand on the incident, were shocked to learn about the suicide attempt by the students.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased student suspect that the school authorities might have put mental pressure on the student forcing them to take this drastic step.

Baksa district Superintendent of Police Ujjwal Pratim Baruah reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
