The Charaideo police in Assam arrested two members of the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad (TAIPA) on charges related to the distribution of inflammatory posters targeting the Miya-Muslim community in Upper Assam.
The individuals detained include Bijoy Rajkonwar, the Central President of TAIPA, and Partho Rajkonwar, the Assistant Secretary of the organization's Charaideo district unit.
The arrests were made by the Sonari police while the two leaders were reportedly engaged in putting up the controversial posters at the daily market in Sonari. The posters allegedly called for the expulsion of Miya-Muslims from Upper Assam, raising concerns about communal tension in the region.
