Assam: Woman killed in Bajali as tree falls due to massive hailstorm

A woman from Banglipara in Bajali, Assam died after a huge tree fell on her in heavy rain accompanied by a storm on April 22.

Janki Baishya, a 70-year-old woman, died after a huge tree fell on her house in a storm last night in Banglipara, Bajali, killing her on the spot.

Thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms ravaged several areas in the state, uprooting trees, electricity poles. 

Amid the festivities of Rongali Bihu, storms and rains hit different parts of the state with Met department predicting heavy rainfall in the entire region for the next few days.
