BJP leader Nalin Kohli has raised concerns over reports of a US agency allocating $21 million for election-related work in India, calling it potential interference in the country’s electoral process.
"Why would any US agency wish to fund election-related activities in India? Would that not amount to interference in our electoral process? We are the world's largest democracy, where free and fair elections are conducted with institutional mechanisms, including the Election Commission of India," Kohli stated.
He further criticized past instances of foreign influence, referring to Congress' alleged engagement with organizations like Cambridge Analytica to manipulate election outcomes.
"If any entity has received money under such a scheme, it must be disclosed. Preventing such interference is essential to safeguarding the integrity of democracy," Kohli asserted.
