In the confusion and miscalculation, the Bhutan-registered bus (BP-1 A0042) lost control and crashed into the mini truck.
The front section of both vehicles sustained extensive damage. Two labourers from the cement truck and eight bus passengers — including several students — were seriously injured.
All injured individuals were immediately taken to a hospital via ambulance for emergency treatment.
Local residents were quick to come to the aid of the injured, providing water and first aid before medical help arrived. However, there was growing anger among the public due to the delayed arrival of the police at the scene.
