In a sharp attack on his former ally, ex-minister and UPPL candidate from Kajalgaon constituency, Chandan Brahma, lashed out at Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary, dismissing his political relevance in today’s context.
Brahma said that Mohilary’s statements throughout the day lacked coherence or consistency and described them as “meaningless ramblings.”
He further remarked that the way Mohilary speaks today, “he has become the Sukkur Ali of the Bodo community,” drawing a provocative comparison.
The biting remarks come amid heightened political activities in Chirang, where the rivalry between the UPPL and BPF has intensified.

Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary on Saturday, September 6 sharpened his political attack against rivals while expressing confidence in his party’s prospects in the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections.
Addressing a large joining programme in Udalguri, where over a hundred leaders and workers from Congress, AIUDF, the Samajwadi Party and other groups formally entered the BPF fold, Mohilary made a scathing remark about his former colleague and ex-minister Chandan Brahma. “After we form the government in this BTC election, I will make Chandan Brahma the president of Boro Harimu Afad, a major Bodo cultural organisation,” he said in a sarcastic tone.
His statement came in response to ABSU president Dipen Boro’s recent remarks accusing Mohilary of being responsible for the failed alliance between the BPF and UPPL. Mohilary retorted, “Dipen Boro is digging up old matters. Let him wait; from tomorrow ,I will reply. Today, I choose to remain silent.”
