Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi today accused the BJP of fostering a "deep relationship" with the Adani Group, alleging that government policies, including airport privatization, are disproportionately benefiting the conglomerate.
Speaking during a press briefing, Gogoi highlighted that opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress (TMC), presented evidence of these claims during Parliament’s Question Hour.
Gogoi also alleged that BJP MPs made "disgusting remarks" when the opposition raised concerns about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being stopped from visiting Sambhal.
“Whenever Rahul Gandhi speaks against Adani, sleeper cells of Adani in the Parliament get activated. This was evident again today,” he remarked.

The Congress MP called for an apology from the BJP MP accused of making the offensive comments and demanded strict action. He also emphasized that the opposition remains united in its demand for accountability on the Adani issue, vowing to continue pressing for transparency regarding alleged favouritism toward the business group.
This development comes amid ongoing tensions in Parliament, with the opposition alleging corporate cronyism and the ruling party dismissing the claims as baseless. The Adani issue has been a rallying point for opposition parties, and their united front signals intensifying scrutiny of the government's economic policies.
The BJP has yet to officially respond to the allegations and demands made by Gogoi.
