Over a thousand youths of the Youth Tipra Federation, the youth wing of the Tipra Motha Party, on Monday staged a massive protest along the international border of Tripura-Bangladesh at Bolla Mukha under Belonia Sub-division of Tripura’s South district, opposing the illegal construction of an embankment allegedly in Indian territory by the neighbouring country.
They said that if Bangladesh does not rectify their mistake, then they will occupy the Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT), Cox’s Bazar and will form a Greater Tipraland there.
Massive security, including BSF and Tripura Police, was deployed in the protest area.
Speaking on the matter, Suraj Debbarma, President of the Youth Tipra Federation, said that on behalf of the Youth Tipra Federation, more than 1,000 people are present at Bolla Mukha under Belonia Sub-division of Tripura’s South District, where the Bangladesh interim government under the leadership of Md Yunus is constructing and building an illegal embankment, and they have also constructed it beyond the 150 yards.

"The Bangladeshis are totally breaking the laws. As a resident of Tripura and also as an indigenous of this state, it is our right to protect our land, boundary, and borders, as we are Indians. The Government of India should look into this matter, and if the Government of India fails to take steps, then we, the indigenous people and the warriors of Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Manikya, will raise the issue," he said.
He further said that they are not going to give Bangladesh any chance, and if they do, then they will take the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Cox’s Bazar, and form a Greater Tipraland there, which is their commitment.
"We want to warn Bangladesh that we are the sons of the soil and we know how to protect our land. We are here to oppose the construction of the illegal embankment," he added.
Reacting on the matter, founder of the Tipra Motha Party, Pradyot Kishore Manikya, said, "Today at Belonia, Tripura, thousands of our warriors were stopped by the BSF; otherwise, the illegal construction by Bangladesh would have been demolished. These are the youth of our Tiprasa. All we need is a green signal, the rest we will handle," he added.
