Meghalaya CM Wishes the People on Occasion of Durga Puja

Shillong, October 5, 2019:

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma wished the people of Meghalaya and India a blessed and prosperous Durga Puja. "May the festive season bring joy in our families and peace amongst our communities", Sangma wrote on Twitter.

Greeting the people on the occasion of Durga Puja, Sangma wrote, "On the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, I extend season's greetings to the people of Meghalaya. The festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and I hope that the spirit of Durga Puja brings people together with love, peace, and harmony. Wishing the people of Meghalaya a glorious and colorful Durga Puja 2019."

Durga Puja, also called Durgotsava, is an annual Hindu festival originating in the Indian subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess, Durga. This year, the Puja began on Saturday, October 5, and Vijaya Dashami, the final day of the puja celebrations, is to be observed on October 8.
