Petrol pumps to remain closed for 12 hours on Friday

Guwahati (Assam), September 27, 2018:

All petrol pumps in Guwahati shall remain closed from 5 am to 5 pm on Friday as the Greater Guwahati unit of North East Petroleum Dealers’ Association has decided to extend support to the all India trade bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

The bandh is called to oppose the Walmart-Flipkart deal and foreign direct investment in retail trade.

Earlier too, several traders and retailers protested against the Walmart-Flipkart deal, raising concerns about losing business.
