GUWAHATI: The northeastern region is likely to experience widespread showers for next 5 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
“Due to strengthening of lower level southwesterly winds, widespread rainfall activity very likely over Northeastern states during next 5 days”, the IMD posted on it's official Twitter handle on Thursday.

Also, the rainfall activity that has been going on across Northeast India since the beginning of the week is likely to aggravate over the next few days as heavy showers have forecast over the Northeastern region until June 7.
As per the data, heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh starting from Friday till Sunday.
It will be extended till Monday over Assam and Meghalaya.
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
