CM ASSURES TO CONSIDER GENUINE DEMAND OF BODOLAND UNIVERSITY

Guwahati, October 2, 2018:

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has assured to consider the genuine demands of the Bodoland Students’ Union and other agitating groups.

Sonowal has directed the Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department, Government of Assam to convey the possibilities for the appointment acting Vice Chancellor to Vice Chancellor of Bodoland University. He has given assurance to appoint permanent Vice Chancellor within the month of October, 2018.

He has also assured to fill up all vacant key posts soon after assuming of new Vice Chancellor and to start political initiative for attaining 12B status under UGC Act, 1956 for Bodoland University. Moreover, the chief minister has assured to include all the financial aspects for the development of Bodoland University in the financial budget.
