The Assam Pradesh Congress Party (APCC) president Bhupen Kumar Borah had suspended Ali, who was a member of Assam Congress Legislature Party (ACLP), from the party with immediate effect yesterday after CLP has recommended APCC to take disciplinary action against ALi for "repeatedly violating party discipline".
On the other hand, BJP Minister Pijush Hazarika had slammed the Congress party over Ali's suspension and said that the party had a lack of "guts" to expel Ali from the party even after such remarks on martyrs.
