Assam: Crackdown on illegal liquor dens carried out in Gohpur, several establishments demolished

The All Assam Adivasi Students' Union (AASA) along with the excise department took proactive measures to eradicate the proliferation of liquor dens in the Gohpur on May 5.

Approximately 10 such establishments were identified and demolished by the union members, signaling a concerted effort to combat the social issues associated with alcohol consumption.

In a collaborative effort with the Gahpur Excise Department, AASA targeted several liquor dens situated within the Bholaguri tea estate of Gohpur. Officials from both AASA and the excise department participated in the operation, not only dismantling the illicit establishments but also issuing stern warnings against the sale of narcotics and alcohol in the locality.

This initiative underscores AASA's commitment to fostering a conducive educational environment for the youth residing in tea garden areas. By tackling the pervasive presence of liquor dens, the union aims to mitigate the negative influences that such establishments pose to the educational pursuits and overall well-being of the younger generation.
