A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, identified as 57-year-old Badeshwar Rai, was found dead in Hailakandi. The incident reportedly took place at an orphanage camp at Panchgram in Hailakandi district where Rai was on duty.
Preliminary investigations by a five-member police team suggest that Rai may have died by suicide, reportedly shooting himself with his service weapon.
The exact cause behind this tragic incident remains unclear. Rai's body is currently at the Kalinagar Sarojini Primary Hospital.
Additional police forces, including sub-police from Hailakandi, have now arrived at the scene and initiated further investigations.
