Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma claims Congressmen provide him daily updates on LS candidates

Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has claimed that some Congressmen, who are accompanying each Lok Sabha candidate of Assam Congress, are providing him with daily updates. 

These individuals allegedly share details about the number of attendees at their meetings via WhatsApp. 

"There are some Congressmen roaming with every Lok Sabha candidate of Assam Congress who are our own people. These people are informing me every day through WhatsApp about how many people are coming to their meetings," wrote Assam CM on his X handle.

At a press conference, the Chief Minister mentioned that he is able to monitor the meetings of the candidates in Jorhat through videos sent to him. He specifically pointed out that photos and videos of two candidates are shared with him in real-time.

According to Sarma, Tapa Gogoi's meeting in Majuli had more attendees than any other candidate's meeting. 

Addressing a press meeting, Assam CM said, "In Jorhat, you will see the meeting of the candidates in the videos. Today I can show you the number of meetings of the two candidates with me. Come to my room in the morning, I will show you. Photos and videos of the two candidates keep coming to me in real-time. Today, Tapa Gogoi is in Majuli, there are as many people in his meeting as there are no people in any other candidates' meeting. Similarly, Sonowal's photo of the meeting in Dibrugarh and Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Manoj Dhaowar, every time there is a meeting, the photos come to me. And the Congress photo has been clicked by a few congresspeople and sent to me. Now you can see that as many photos of the Congress candidates are coming in, the Congressmen accompanying them send them."

He also mentioned receiving photos of Sonowal's meeting in Dibrugarh and the meetings of Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Manoj Dhaowar. 

Sarma alleged that photos of opposition candidates are clicked and sent to him by a few Congressmen who are accompanying the candidates.
