Assam: MLA Sherman Ali hurls abuses on security personnel, orders him to shoot mandal president; video goes viral

A tense situation prevailed in Baghbor, Assam after a video of MLA Sherman Ali hurling abuses and using indecent language on the security personnel went viral on May 17. 

MLA Sherman Ali allegedly hurled abuses on the security personnel for allegedly not performing their duties properly and not following his orders.

As per sources, Sherman Ali lost his cool after a president of Mandal Congress of Baghmara under Barpeta district demanded money to be paid by Congress workers for work done in the last assembly. 

It is learnt that in the last assembly elections, Jinnah Rezzakul Alam, president of the Mandal Congress of Baghmaras in Barpeta district, said that he had spent Rs 2 lakh during the election.

A tense situation prevailed after MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed inaugurated the panchayat hall at Baghmara Char on the southern bank of Barpeta district on May 17. 

After the passage of the last two years, the Mandal Congress president today asked for the money he was to receive from the MLA and ordered his security personnel to shoot the leader on camera.

The MLA further lost his cool when the bodyguard did not follow his orders and had to face a string of abuses.
A section of the local people were angry on the MLA for his use of such indecent language and rude behaviour in the public area.
