Assam: Storm, heavy rainfall wreak havoc in Karimganj, trees uprooted

A powerful storm accompanied with torrential rains hit Karimganj, Assam, leaving a trail of destruction on May 6.

The Bhanga railway station bore the brunt of the storm and rain as the tin sheets covering the platform fans were ripped away by the forceful wind. In another incident, several trees were uprooted due to the raging winds, crashing down onto the national highway in the Sharisha locality, further obstructing traffic and posing a perilous hazard to motorists.

In response to the chaos, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) swiftly mobilized their personnel to the affected areas. With precision and determination, they worked to clear the debris and fallen trees, reopening vital thoroughfares and ensuring the safety of residents and travelers alike.
