Assam: Woman kills mother-in-law over land dispute in Bongaigaon, arrested

In a startling development on Rongali Bihu, a shocking murder took place in Jogighopa town, Bongaigaon district on Sunday, April 14.

The incident happened in Bharalkundi 10th Block village where Maryam Beowa was reportedly killed by her daughter-in-law over a land dispute.

The suspected culprit, Sayeda, was arrested by Jogighopa police. Reports suggest a heated argument between the two escalated, leading to the alleged assault.

Local residents stepped in, rushing the injured woman to Goalpara Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
