JAMMU: The wave of festivity to end a month long fast has lighten up the atmosphere and filled it with bonhomie around the Line of Control (LOC) as the exchange of sweets has taken place between the Indian Army and the Pakistan Army today on the border in the occasion of eid-ul-fitr.

The celebration took place at Poonch-Rawalakot Crossing Point and Mendhar-Hotspring crossing point in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The celebration was observed as a confidence building measure in the backdrop of recently agreed ceasefire between both the countries.

Worth mentioning that during the last Diwali there was no exchange of any such gestures between the two countries. Hence, today's celebration might be a hint of efforts to return on track between the two countries yet again.

Sweets and greetings were exchanged by the representatives of both the Armies and the gesture was well appreciated by both the countries as well.

There is a hope that this would promote good will and mutual trust between the two neighboring countries in a long run.
