Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a conversation with the media, also revealed that the participation of 126 Trinamool Congress candidates in the Assembly elections would bring funding from West Bengal, thereby improving Assam's economy.

Speaking to the media Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "If 126 Trinamool Congress candidates participate in the Assembly elections, the funding will come from West Bengal which will improve Assam's economy."

"There will be a competition in the Dhubri seat as our people are going a campaign and when I visit I will get a clear picture...earlier Nagaon and Karimganj seats were tough, now it is easy," he added.

He further stated that the competition for the Dhubri seat is intense due to the ongoing campaign activities, and a clearer picture would emerge upon his visit. He also noted that the Nagaon and Karimganj seats, which were previously considered challenging, are now easier to win.

The constituencies slated for third phase polls on May 7 include Dhubri, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, and Guwahati.
