Manipur: No visible sign of relief in state even after one year of conflict, says COCOMI

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), a significant Meitei organisation in Manipur, has announced a public meeting on May 3, 2024, marking one year of the alleged narco-terrorist aggression in the state.

The announcement came from a press conference today, where COCOMI spokesman, Khurajam Athouba Meitei, expressed dissatisfaction with the Government of India's handling of the Manipur crisis.

Meitei stated that despite a year of conflict, there is no visible sign of relief or a return to normalcy.

The spokesman also revealed that the organisation would issue an ultimatum at the public meeting. Documents and data related to the narco-terrorist aggression will also be presented.

The gunfight happened at Sinam Kom on the border of the Kangpkopi and Imphal East districts on (April 26) Friday night, they said.

A 'village volunteer' who went missing following the gunfight was found dead on Saturday morning, they added.

He was identified as Laishram Prem, police said.
