Chief Minister of Meghalaya and National People's Party(NPP) National President, Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday said that he will take a call on the growing demand for the party to break alliance with the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
Sangma informed that the party has been discussing breaking alliance with the BJP with the party leaders of the North Eastern States.
Addressing the media, Sangma said that the decision of the Centre to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is very unfortunate as they have been opposing it but the cabinet did it's best to get it amended.
It may be mentioned that the NPP is the largest ruling party in the Northeast in the hill states. The party won a majority of votes in the recent election in Sikkim.
