Tripura: Six held with suspected heroin in Agartala

Tripura Police have arrested six youths from Agartala city and seized a pouch of heroin from their possession on Tuesday late night.

Speaking with reporters, Officer-In-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, Paritosh Das, said that yesterday, based on a tip-off regarding a group of youth in the Krishnanagar area of Agartala who are engaged in selling and purchasing drugs, police conducted a raid.

“Based on this information, we carried out a raid and arrested six persons and seized a pouch of heroin from their possession. During preliminary interrogation, they revealed that they have already sold five more pouches. We have registered an NDPS case against them and will produce them before the court,” he said.

They are identified as Uttam Chakraborty, Suman Debbarma, Sayan Deb, Rakesh Debnath, Prakash Kar, and Koushik Saha.
