Manipur Police Seizes Huge Amount of Heroin Worth Rs 166 Cr

Imphal, August 16, 2019:

Manipur Police seized around 184.644 kg of suspected heroin in Thoubal district.

A special team busted a Brown Sugar Factory run at the residence of one identified as Moijingmayum Md. Muhammed (41) near the Community Hall.

The team recovered several chemicals suspected to be used in the manufacturing of heroin such as - Ammonium Chloride, lime and other tools from the factory. 183.99 kg of suspected heroin brown sugar powder in 8 plastic sacks, 580 gm of suspected heroin brown sugar powder in a black bag, 74.9 gm of suspected heroin brown sugar in paste form were also recovered.

The special team was led by Additional SP Sachidananda Soibam under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Thoubal Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh assisted by ANJUMAN, Lilong. DSP O. Wangkhomba, SDPO Thoubal M. Bishworjit Singh, DSP Thoubal A. Khelendro, RI Thoubal, inspector M.Sudhirkumar were among the ones involved in the investigation.

A case has been registered against the owner of the factory Moijingmayum Md. Muhammad at the Thoubal Police Station.
