<p class="text-align-justify">A woman had been discovered brutally murdered in her bedroom on Wednesday morning, at Chaparbalajan village in the Golakganj area of the Dhubri District with her neck slit.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="text-align-justify">After witnessing the horrific incident, the victim's family informed the police.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="text-align-justify">The deceased woman was identified as Argina Bibi, wife of Kashem Ali, a resident of Chaparbalajan in Golakganj.</p>

<p class="text-align-justify">The motive behind the murder is not yet clear, and the police have not ruled out any possibility, including robbery, personal enmity, or domestic violence.<br />

<p>The Assam government is all set to hold a brainstorming session between ministers and bureaucrats in Kaziranga starting today, September 24.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three-day brainstorming session titled ‘Chintan Shivir’ will be held for three days.</p>

<p>Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be inaugurating the event at 2 pm today, September 24, which is being organized by the General Administration Department (GAD), and tourism department, on behalf of the state government.</p>

<p>Senior-most secretaries from various departments, including ministers will be also attending the three-day Chintan Shivir, during which they will discuss the ongoing activities of the departments and the plans for the next five years. During their discussion, they will also chart out a roadmap of the departments for the next five years which is likely to be prepared during the session.</p>

<p>Speaking about the Chintan Shivir, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika said, “In this Chintan Shivir, all the stakeholders including senior bureaucrats will be creating a roadmap of the departments for the next five years and how we can take the state on the path of development by 2026.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Whatever the dream of Chief Minister is, it should be our collective objective to take forward CM’s dream of making Assam &nbsp;come among the top 5 states.”</p>

<p>Notably, spiritual leaders Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living and Sadhguru have been invited to take part in the Chintan Shivir.</p>

Assam government to kickstart its 3-day brainstorming session ‘Chintan Shivir’ from today

<p>A Mass demonstration was organized by the Dimasa Student Union (DSU) and all social organizations for immediate implementation of the long-awaited Autonomous State under Article 244(A) in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office, Dima Hasao, on July 25.</p>

<p>Many student organizations and social organizations took part in the demonstration.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Demands began in 1969 after Meghalaya got separated from Assam. In 1986, the demand gained further traction in a documented form.</p>

<p>Section 2 of the 22nd Amendment inserted new article 244A in the Constitution to empower Parliament to enact a law for constituting an autonomous State within the State of Assam and also to provide the autonomous State with Legislature or a Council of Ministers or both with such powers and functions as may be defined.</p>

<p>Various students bodies, as well as social and political organizations have demonstrated in Haflong, Guwahati, and Delhi regarding the issue, but there has been no formal assurance from the central or state governments till now.</p>

<p>During the latest protest, organizations submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India through the Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao.</p>

<p>Aramith Sengyung of the student body said that the movement is being started with a “new spirit.”</p>

<p>“The central government, state governments, and autonomous councils are now all administered by the same government and the government can easily meet the demands of the hill people,” he said.</p>

<p>Through the media, he appealed to the government to fulfill the demand soon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The opposition leader MAC of NCHAC of Haflong constituency Daniel Langthasa said that the people of the hill areas are always neglected and betrayed by the central and state governments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“When Rajnath Singh visited Karbi Anglong on March 25 of 2009, he promised that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government got elected in hill districts, the demand for an autonomous state will be fulfilled. But a long time has passed since then and no demand has been fulfilled,” he said.</p>

<p>The North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students Forums (ISF) has demanded urgent compensation on behalf of Dima Hasao residents who have been impacted by highway road construction in the hills district.</p>

<p>The forum also submitted a memorandum for compensation, citing various points for the affected families and the improvement of villages near the highways, including the immediate release of all necessary compensation before the commencement of 4-lane balance work.</p>

<p>The Forum also advises the formation of a monitoring committee or agreement with the contractor in the presence of NHAI authority to resolve local issues, as well as the contractor's commitment to completing the highway road construction as soon as possible.</p>

<p>It also includes the requirement for a village approach road whose land was acquired by NHAI for highway construction, a market shed along the highway for villagers to sell their organic produce, no change in alignment for new road construction, and maintenance of the highway road stretch from Nrimbanglo to Harangajao.</p>

<p>Talking to IndiaTodayNE, the forum's president, David Keivom, stated that during an earlier meeting, the authority agreed to compensate them in the presence of Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, but because six months have passed and no positive response has been received and therefore a strong agitation against the authority has been launched.</p>

Assam: NCHISF demands immediate compensation for highway construction families

<p>A man died and one sustained injuries when a motorbike in which they were traveling collided with Tata sumo in the Langting area of the Dima Hasao district on Wednesday. The deceased identified as Rabindar Shing (28), a resident of Karikhana, Lanka, and Bijoy Sahu (24) succumbed to serious injuries.</p>

<p>The police and ambulance reached the spot, but Rabindar Shing died before reaching the hospital. The dead boy has been sent for post-mortem and police are investigating the case further.</p>
